A poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning.
Former U.S. Poet Laureate James Dickey (born February 2, 1923) read a poem at President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration. Dickey also wrote the novel Deliverance, and made a cameo appearance in the film adaptation.
