Opening Your 3rd Eye

Self Love

As I’ve been exploring my spiritual path, one topic I have been working on is my 3rd eye. I’ve listened to binaural tones, used my Tibetan crystal singing bowl (which is tuned for the 3rd eye) while mediating and practicing my chanting, and of course watched tons of videos from some fantastic luminaries on YouTube.

I believe we are making this much more difficult than it needs to be. I came across a video by Aaron Doughty where he sums up why we do this and gives an interesting theory on how to actually do it in under 9 minutes!

Check out his video and let me know in the comments if you’re having the same problem or perhaps you have had success in opening your 3rd eye and what’s worked for you. I would love to open up this conversation. Any questions are always welcome! Let’s get tuned in…

      • Very good. Really nice people of all ages. I felt a lot more comfortable there than I did at one a few years ago that really had no grounding in any credible tradition. This one was also all women except for me yet none of these ladies carried on about me being the only male. In fact gender wasn’t an issue and everyone seemed comfortable as human beings. I guess at this one just then there were no obvious drug users. Makes a difference. At the one several years ago I was shocked when the facilitator said that she had a couple of glasses of wine before the session to get in the zone. I have every appreciation for how various channels may work though in my experience there is a toxic dreaming in parallel to spiritual dreaming and lore

      • I’m so glad you had such an amazing time! It’s funny you mention being the only male, in a lot of mindfulness courses I take it’s also mostly female except for a few men. It’s so odd especially since there are so many men teaching about all of this. I also totally agree with you about using any sort of drug to alter your senses, I would think it would have the opposite effect.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!

      • Cheers. I treat is as going to work and that is with an air of professionalism. Amaze how for some people their gender or sexuality can be all they have to negotiate their way in the world. I am not interested in a lot of it though I have been subjected to some things in recent years that I have just had to accept and consider others of minority groups who have copped it every day forever. It is good for me to be reminded and also good to know that fear and loathing is the path of a small mind no matter what its difference or political stance. Just saw someone involved in the Maharishi school. As a martial artist I started putting meditation into my routine over 2 decades ago. Plenty to study in the meantime

      • So very true, unfortunately. It’s great that you have the martial arts as part of your meditation practice. That’s an amazing way to raise your energy and vibration! 😊🙌🏻
